Fairing is basically complete.
I ripped six pieces of jarrah hardwood and six pieces of kauri to laminate into a tiller. The lamination is basically complete, as you can see in the photo, with the epoxy cured, although I have yet to release the clamps. I'll do that today.
One more task will be laminating four 4o x 40 x 1900 mm jarrah planks together to form the backbone of the rudder. The trailing portion of the rudder will be 40 x 40 mm kauri, and the entier structure will be bolted togetgher with 6 mm SS threaded rod. Should have that done in a week or so.
On the bottom of the boat, you see the keel deadwood rising. A 60mm x 4.5-meter hunk of kwila hardwood sits on 60 mm blocks. I've scribed the arc that I have to cut out to make the hunk fit, and will take to it with skilsaw, chisel, and power plane today. Hopefully I can get it shaped and epoxied in place before the sun goes down.
The boat turns over before long.
